We’re back after a mid-season hiatus looking to return with a bang in Matchday 25. Liverpool might be strolling towards the title, but there are still plenty of plays to keep us interested, particularly at the other end of the table. Let’s get straight into it with our English Premier League betting tips for this weekend.
Leicester City vs Chelsea
Leicester have endured a tough week after conceding a late goal to Aston Villa that denied them a place in the Carabao Cup final. Brendan Rodgers’ men have also lost four of their last eight English Premier League matches, including surprise defeats to Burnley and Southampton. They host a Chelsea side that is also in the middle of a downturn, with the Blues winning just four of their past 12 games, including six defeats in that run. Chelsea has struggled on the road, with 20 of their 32 conceded goals coming away from home this season. That points to more goals falling at King Power Stadium, especially when you consider that nine of Chelsea’s 12 away games in the league have resulted in three or more goals being scored. Expect more of the same in this one.

Burnley vs Arsenal
Things are looking up for Burnley, despite a midweek FA Cup defeat. The Clarets stunned Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out in the English Premier League, the fourth win from their last eight league games, and have built a seven-point cushion from the relegation zone. They welcome struggling Arsenal, which is finding it hard to muster points under new manager Mikel Arteta. It’s been one win, one defeat and five draws for the Gunners since the Spaniard took over, yet their away form is even more concerning. Arsenal has won just two games on the road this English Premier League campaign, which doesn’t bode well ahead of a tricky visit to Turf Moor. In spite of this, Arterta’s men are odds-on favorites at DraftKings in this game. From our perspective, their away form doesn’t justify the odds against a resurgent Burnley. We’re with the underdog.

Watford vs Everton
Another one where the home underdog has caught our eye. Watford looked dead and buried when they sat bottom of the table after one win from their opening 14 games. New manager Nigel Person has instilled new hope and they now sit in the relegation zone only on goal difference. Pearson’s side is unbeaten in their last five English Premier League encounters at Vicarage Road, despite facing the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Wolves (5th, 6th and 7th place, respectively) during that time. Tally that with Everton’s lack of wins on the road – the Toffees have triumphed just twice in 12 Premier League games away from Goodison Park this season – and the Watford win or draw double chance looks a good play.

Newcastle United vs Norwich City
Norwich will have to get moving if they want to secure their place in the English top-flight next term. After one win from their past 11 games, the Canaries sit bottom of the standings, six points short of safety. You only need to look at their form away from home to see why: they’ve lost eight of 12 on the road and have scored in just seven of those games. Newcastle, meanwhile, is unbeaten in six games in all competitions and have moved seven points clear of the bottom three. Steve Bruce’s side was one of the relegation favorites at the start of this season, but performances at home (five wins, four draws, three defeats) instead leave them on the cusp of the top 10. Given that impressive home record, we’re expecting Newcastle to continue Norwich’s season of woe.
