There is always a lot riding on week three. For most teams, they will either find themselves in a hole they can’t get out of. This is where must-win teams step up and should be considered for your bets. Last week we saw some good results. The interesting fact was that 10 of the 16 teams that won the game were on the road.
Let’s dig into some picks and see what our stats show us.
Atlanta Falcons @ Indianapolis Colts
The Falcons are on the road carrying some momentum, however, the Colts are at home and are only giving one. Atlanta came up big against the Eagles but do they have what it takes to do the same on the road. This affair could go either way but we like the Colts at -1.
Updated – Colts at home was the way to go.
Denver Broncos @ Green Bay Packers
The Denver Broncos are one of those teams that have to win or become 0-3 on the season. Although Green Bay should win at home 7.5 for the Broncos is looking pretty good. John Elway isn’t starting this game but there is a chance someone steps up. We are taking the points on the road with Denver at +7.5.
Updated – We knew the Packers would win but we didn’t think the Broncos would let them win by more than 10.
Miami Dolphins @ Dallas Cowboys
Do the Dallas Cowboys beat the Dolphins. Most definitely yes. However, do they beat them by 22.5. I’m not so sure. What we do like is the under in this game. The Cowboys will have to score 48 points since the Dolphins will most likely not score. We are taking the under in this one. Under 47.5
Updated – This was a sure bet with the under. In fact, the Cowboys did cover the spread but the over/under was just too high for these teams.
Carolina Panthers @ Arizona Cardinals
Arizona is 2-0 this year against the spread. We feel like some experience brings them to light. Although Carolina isn’t great this year we still feel like they can show up. In this one, we are taking the home team. The Cardinals are giving 2.5 but that is saying they are ready for a win. Cardinals -2.5
Updated – Not much to say here.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ San Francisco 49ers
The Steelers are off to a pretty bad start this year but only two games in, you can’t really determine if that is where the cards will fall. Maybe a road game is what they need. The 49ers on the other end seem to be moving in the right direction. However, any time you see the Steelers getting a lot of points you have to jump on board. We are taking the points here at 6.5.
Updated – The Steelers looked dreadful for most of the game and couldn’t take advantage of the 5 turnovers. They still covered.
New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks
Seattle is ready to kick it up. Not only are they at home but they are up against the Bressless Saints. No one knows if the Saints can go without Brees. Their defense is pretty solid but it will come down to scoring points. We are going with Seattle at home at -5.
Updated – Wow, the Saints are for real. This defense will keep them in every game even without Brees.
Los Angeles Rams @ Cleveland Browns
Are the Browns legit? Maybe against the Jets. However, they have Los Angeles Rams coming to town. They are getting 3 points at home but we are taking the road team in this one. The Rams should win by a touchdown and the defense just may return one on Baker Mayfield. Take Los Angeles on the Road -3.
Updated – The Rams are too legit and the Browns are the Browns.
That was a look at this weeks action in the NFL. Assuming no major injuries occur we like the way this is lining up. Be sure to read our FanDuel review for PA players. There will be more picks to come in the future as well so stay tuned.
Stat – Home teams won 9 and road teams won 6.
