Last week was pretty tough on Perky Bets. There were a lot of games we thought were locks on to be a surprise. It just shows you the week to week concept. Teams rally or a player coming back from injury can make a world of a difference. We’ll look at some factual stats from last week and make our selections for week seven.
Take a Look at Week Six Storylines
- Tom Brady broke another record by passing Peyton Manning for 2nd-most passing yards
- The Bengals are 0-6. They haven’t been in this spot since 2008.
- Seattle hasn’t been 3-0 on the road to start the season since 1980.
- The Falcons are really bad. They are now 1-5, the first time since 2007.
- Chargers don’t fare well in Primetime, losing five of the last six times. (Remember for the Future)
Los Angeles Rams @ Atlanta Falcons
We are talking about two bad teams in this match. West coast team visiting the east coast and giving points. We’ll have to take the Falcons in this one. This game could be a large scoring affair but the Falcons are due for a win this week. If not, we’ll have some points to back us up. Take the Falcons at home +3.
Updated – Falcons at home getting points means nothing. They are in a world of hurt.
Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions
Detroit is showing it’s pretty legit. They have a hard time finishing out teams. This doesn’t bode well for postseason success. They had some bad calls against them on Monday night which needs to be made up. Although the Vikings are playing strong right now, the Lions will pull this one out at home. We are going to take the Lions -1 at home.
Updated – It seems like the Lions can’t finish on the positive side. They are good but not great.
Oakland Raiders @ Green Bay Packers
The Packers have shown they are for real and won’t give up. The Packers at home is a good deal but giving the Raiders 6.5 is a bit questionable. We do think the Packers win this game but it could be a nail bitter. We are taking the Pack -6.5 at home.
Updated – Packers are who we thought they were. If they can get healthy they will make a deep run.
Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
We can’t see Buffalo scoring this many points against the Dolphins without Miami making an attempt. The Dolphins will most likely keep their losing streak alive but we have to take the Dolphins at +16.5 on the road.
Updated – The Bills are good but not enough to beat the lame Dolphins by 17. We had to take the points in this one.
San Francisco 49ers @ Washington Redskins
The Redskins got off the snide last weekend with a win against the Miami Dolphins. They barely won that game and most likely should have lost. We have a strong 49ers team going coast to coast. This is a team on fire and there is nothing saying they shouldn’t be 6-0. Giving the Skins +9.5 at home is too much, however. The 49ers should roll in and out of Washington with a win but the Redskins could hold them off from covering.
Updated – Turned out to be a slop fest and this was probably the only reason why the Skins were able to use the points in their favor.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cincinnati Bengals
Do the Bengals get their first win this week. At home, the Bengals are just as bad. Although the Jaguars are not that great we feel like they bounce back and beat the Bengals on the road. We are taking the Jaguars on the road at -3.5.
Updated – There are a lot of bad teams this year. The Bengals may be the worst of the bunch.
New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears
This is our game of the week. We’ve been riding the Saints all season and we think they continue to their solid play. Chicago is coming off a bad loss in London against a better Raiders team. The extra time might help but the Saints have proven to win with defense. The defense will show up once again against a pretty sorry Bears offense. We are taking the Saints on the road +3.5.
Updated – We liked this one from the beginning. We felt like this was the game you could go heavy on if you wanted to ramp up this week.
This wraps up our picks for this week. It’s getting more difficult each week. Keep an eye out for some interesting over/under plays as well. You may want to consider the over in the Chargers/Titans game and the Texans/Colts game. These could put up some big numbers.
Updated – Both of these Overs hit which made for a very good weekend in the NFL.
Take a look at a comparison between Draftkings and FanDuel sportsbooks. This may give you an idea of where to go. If you are living in West Virginia be sure to check out FD in WV.
Good Luck – Perky
